Another Day another Author Inspires Children at All Saints'!

As part of our focus on writing this year, we have invited different authors into the School to encourage the children to be the best writers they can.
Today we had a visit from the published children's author E R Reilly, ‘Now this is what I love, school reading days. I do love writing the books, but for me the greatest buzz is to stand up in front of a group half full of children and take them on a journey of excitement.’
E.R. Reilly inspired the children with top tips on writing stories; discussions about his books; reading sections from his best sellers and providing the children with the opportunity to ask him questions.
Here are some of the questions the children asked him and his answers.
‘ What inspired you to be a writer?’ ‘Children’
'What one piece of advice would you give to children to help them improve their writing?’ ‘Write every day to build up your stamina.’
‘Which authors inspired you?’ ‘Jacqueline Wilson and David Williams’
Writing challenges were also shared with the children, which will be set as homework this week.
All children were fully engaged and on the edge of their seats to find out what happens at the end of his books… unfortunately, they will have to read his books to know that! Children should look out for copies of these books in our libraries- coming soon!
