Year 6 Africa Art Project
This term Miss Akwa has been teaching Year 6 Art and they have been studying Africa putting together an amazing portfolio of their work which was showcased at this exhibition.
They have been taught about a range of techniques as well as painting and drawing including; Using African wax prints known as Ankara to make colourful baseball caps. They learnt about making mosaics and used this technique to recreate the colourful flags of Ghana, Senegal, Togo, Uganda, Tanzania and Malawi. They also learnt about quilling, the art of folding paper to create colourful maps of Africa.
